10p unauthorised overdraft charge applied to current account.
I am always in credit - have never dipped below £0.01.
Email reply today to my complaint - "I don't know why it happened, but I've removed the charge" is the response.
Asked them to ensure no adverse effect on my credit file too.
Feels like quite a basic thing which really shouldn't happen.
Be warned!

10p x X million customers = Nice little bonus for the company0

Make that X million customers minus 1. I have had accounts with them since A&L times, never been overdrawn, never got charged a penny.
Quite the opposite - - they are paying my lots every month for a range of DDs, and in interest. Plus handsome cashback on the 123 credit card.0 -
I think they've been having some system issues this last month or so.
I'm still stoozing a £10K overdraft facility and am normally charged £20 per month (£1 per day capped at 20 days per month). However, last month they only charged me £2.
Checked just now and we're back to £20 due to be debited later this week.0 -
I had a charge of 35p on boxing day for an overdraft fee. Took some time but the guy did allege an overdraft occurred and highlighted two transactions. A debit card payment on the 3rd Nov which was posted on the 5th and a transfer which covered the amount on the 4th
05/11/2013 Debit Card ON 03-11-2013
04/11/2013 Transfer In
Given the 3rd was a Sunday and I would always transfer the amount before using my debit card to pay my credit card my only explanation was the date showing on the transfer was wrong because it was a Sunday (seen that happen before).
Guy told me he could not see what time the transfer was made but he could not reverse the charge (first overdraft charge ever). He was going to say I would have to wait a decision in writing before appealing. I protested and asked for a manager. Explained the situation and the manager arranged for it to be reverse.
Strange others have questions on 'magic' overdrafts.0 -
Fees of 10p or 35p are impossible according to the Santander fees document: http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/StaticBS?ssbinary=true&blobkey=id&SSURIsscontext=Satellite+Server&blobcol=urldata&blobheadervalue1=application%2Fpdf&blobwhere=1314013410338&SSURIsession=false&blobheadervalue2=inline%3Bfilename%3D917%5C28%5CP0000325_J0006336_BANK0455DEC13HF_v3_FINAL.pdf&SSURIapptype=BlobServer&blobtable=MungoBlobs&SSURIcontainer=Default&blobheadername1=content-type&blobheadername2=Content-Disposition#satellitefragment&maxage=3600
Also, you shouldn't see any fees until you are at least £12 overdrawn.0 -

I had an awful time with A+L back in the 90s.
Decided to go back to Santander because of 123 Account.
And then I get a 10p unauthorised overdraft charge...despite constantly being in credit.
Seems they need to read their own fees document, eh?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
