Cat won't use cat flap!

This is more or less what I intend to do. First thing though is to make sure she's using the flap regularly for coming in as well as going out.

It's early days yet but we are so looking forward to being able to close our bedroom window and not having to clean it every week to remove the slippy slidey marks of little paws.

My cat meows to let him out but scratches the rubber strip round the door when he wants to come in.
I've never known a cat do this before. I cannot imagine how I'd try and teach him he has to meow to come in. I've ignored the scratching just to see what he does but he goes and lays on one of the garden chairs. Funny creature.
