Top up mobile, text to donate to charity, and use free data myself

I have a Virgin PAYG mobile which I don't use much. I do get free data by topping up more than a tenner, though, which is handy. Is there any reason I can't:
- top up every month (far more credit than I need).
- donate the excess to charity via this type of Text to Donate scheme http://www.stroke.org.uk/fundraise/text-donate-terms-and-conditions
- use my free data.
Seems like this would work well for me and the charity (I'm looking to give more next near anyway). Any downside or stumbling block I'm missing?
