Traffic flow cameras and road incidents

Hi, wondering if someone knew the answer please.
Yesterday after a day out, was driving in London. Junction is on an main A road, with traffic lights.
To cross the road and gain access to the A road, you have to wait in the middle of the junction.
I waited until my light was green and then ventured to the middle of the road. Several cars went through, but I waited for a gap to enable me to turn right.
As I turned right a car from straight ahead came out if nowhere. I'm assuming they sped up to make the lights.
We had a near miss, but he tooted me like crazy. It's really spoked me tbh. I'm worried now I was in the wrong and pulled out in front of him.
Does this constitute careless driving on my part. There are traffic management flow cameras there and am wondering if I will be reported to police.
Does anyone know the answer please about these cameras?
Hoping someone can put my mind at rest.
Thanks

On balance, your position seems reasonable enough to have any ticket cancelled should it arrive. It is clear you were exercising caution and can in no way be deemed to have behaved recklessly.
Welcome to London, I avoid that place like a deadly virus.
Most of the motorists in that city are familiar with their route and they plough ahead regardless; fellow drivers are not their consideration. No indicators, no keeping in lane, nothing.
Yet the closer to Central London you get the more you realise just how ambiguous and badly sketched out the road layouts really are. Often it is impossible to determine who has priority and who hasn't, so if you fancy driving in London - be like the rest of them and award yourself priority every time.
It isn't nice when someone blasts the horn, but just remember, you also have a horn, and a hand that can make gestures. It is highly unlikely you will be booked. If so, just explain your circumstance.0 -
The cameras would have been looking for people stopped on the (probable) yellow box hatchings, not turning right like you were, so the Council could send them a PCN. If no yellow box junction then the cameras would have been looking for other reasons to send a PCN, such as people stopping where they shouldn't. Very unlikely to have been Police cameras - and even if they were you didn't go through a red light or anything!
Sitting in a yellow box waiting to turn right, then doing so when there's a gap, is fine. Relax!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Takes me back to my driving test in 1995! The Box Junction is a de facto Keep Clear zone and the right-turn rule is the only thing setting it apart.
Of course in Britain's capital which never sleeps if the OP didn't take the opportune moment to hit the gas, he'd still be there next July.0
