Philips Dect 2154

Can anyone help me?

I have just bought 4 philips dect 2154 phones off ebay.
The phones came with no instruction manual and I have searched the internet for some guidance but I am really struggling to get the phones to work with the information I have found. The seller on ebay has not responded to my emails......typical!

Does anyone have these phones and is using them currently?
I have registered them all but when I try to make a call I sometimes get a dialing tone but often I just hear a beep? What does this mean?

Any help would be appreciated :-)

According to http://www.telephonesonline.co.uk/philips_user_guides.asp, THIS is the User Manual you need.

I think the below is the same - but it's from a different source as you can see:

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Thanks for the help, I have already downloaded the manual, but for some reason when I try to carry out any of the procedures in it, the phones don't respond. I know they have worked for the original owner because I have found stored numbers in them.

I just can't get the dial tone consistently, it is usually an intermittent beep that I hear.

It sounds (pardon the pun) as though the handset you are using is not registered with the base station.

I know what you mean, however the aerial image on the display of all phones is solid so that would suggest they are registered and within range.

It has completely baffled me...........I don't know what else to do?
