Incorrect order delivered from online purchase

Good afternoon
I was hoping that someone could provide some advice - I've looked around this site (and others) and I've not found anything that quite covers this situation (ie. wrong product delivered, rather than something faulty etc).
I bought a nice bottle of gin online as a Christmas present which was delivered on 23 December - the only problem was the wrong one was delivered and it was a much cheaper bottle and not suitable to give as a gift.
Since then I have been in discussion with the company (a 3rd party company selling through Amazon) and they are insisting that they will not deliver the correct bottle without, at the same time, picking up the incorrect one. This is an issue as they are suggesting that it is only possible to use Parcel Force to do this and so it must be on a weekday, and I am not able to take any time off work.
One solution, I imagine, is that I offer to post it back recorded delivery and the company refunds me and sends out the correct bottle - however this would still cause a problem for delivery on a weekday.
Frankly, given it messed up Christmas I feel I'm due some compensation (ie. free gin) and they should either post me the correct bottle or refund me, and I keep the other - however I don't imagine consumer rights law takes much account of whether or not something was supposed to be a present!
Any advice either about my rights with respect to receiving the correct bottle without needing to be at home on a weekday, or about any way I can claim compensation, would be gratefully received.
Thanks

You are not owed compensation. If not having the correct bottłe of gin 'messed up Christmas' then that's unfortunately on you... There are lots of ruined Christmas's on here!
You are owed the correct bottle of gin. They will want their bottle of gin back.
You seem to want to keep both. You can't make them do that and you can't demand that.
Can you ask them to deliver/pick up to your workplace?0 -

Yes, I could have guessed 'notmyrealname1' wasn't your real MSE username. What is it BTW?
Drink the bottle of gin this evening and come back in the morning and ask for advice on compensation for your throbbing head caused by the inferior product.0 -
Have you requested for the gin to be collected from your place of work?0
