I don't think there is any particular time limit - some people are called every six months, some every year, some never. You have to fill in an IB50 questionnaire first and they will decide from that whether to send you for a medical or not. Have you done this yet?

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

    Hi
    Its usually 6 months
The IB50 form needs to be completed carefully being mindful of the points scoring criteria applied
You need 10 points and you can see the criteria at various sites online

The same criteria applies if you go for the medical interview - and you treat it like a normal interview making sure you cover all the bases that add your points up in it - assuming of course that truthfully you do

if you go to your local welfare rights office they will fill the form in for you if you put welfare right office and the place you stay in google, the medical is daunting believe me but the welfare rights people will give you great advice/help. have you not claimed Dla? you can get that for depression/anxiety.
