Getting to Maesglas in Newport advice please
Options
Wasn't sure which board to put this on, looking for some travel advice!
I'm about to start a new job in Newport. I need to get to the bottom of Cardiff Road, near the Maesglas shops.
I'll be coming from Cardiff, so I need to either get the train to Newport and then find a bus from Newport to Maesglas (it's about a half way walk so it's doable without the bus, but I might not want to walk it if it's pouring with rain!) or get a bus all the way from Cardiff to Maesglas if that is possible.
I can't make head or tail of the Newport and Cardiff bus websites because they don't list all the stops.
Anyone familiar with Newport know the best way to get there?

Hi Starrybee,
I'm not up on the buses around Newport I'm afraid but I do know that the Number 30 bus is run by both Newport Bus and Cardiff Bus between Newport & Cardiff, it goes from both bus stations and runs along Cardiff Rd right past the Maesglas shops. In fact there is a bus stop right outside the shops and the one opposite is just a little further down the road.
Hope that helps in someway.0 -
Hi Starrybee, don't know whether you still need help on this, but I caught the number 30 bus today.
Pont Ebbw on the Cardiff to Newport timetable is the big roundabout by the ONS. The bus then goes up Cardiff Road past tesco's, past the Royal Gwent and Newport Police Station and into stand 21 of the new bus station at market square.
Depending on where your job is, you could either get off the bus at Cardiff Road and walk from there, or if its down near Comet etc and a bit too far to walk, the Duffryn bus goes from stand 19 of market square and that goes via Docks Way, so that may get you nearer.0
