Ignorance is not bliss !!

Having been issued with a Parking Notice at my local hospital from Car Parking Partnerships, for parking in a disabled bay without displaying a Blue badge, I am now at the stage of 'Second Application' from PS&P Debt collectors, having ignored all previous correspondence (as advised at the time),

what I would like to know is this : Will I get my day in court ? I am not condoning parking in Disabled bays but it was a medical emergency and as it was I obtained a pay & display ticket, took the 'patient' into the hospital left to return to my car and found the Notice on my windscreen, all within 15 minutes, might I add that the car park was empty at the time of the 'offense' I have trawled through the forum and have not found a similar situation, hence the new thread.

Have you made complaints to the nhs trust on this? As you were probably allowed to use the disabled bays if the patient has any deliberating conditions they are probably in breach of the Equality Act 2010, a lot of complaints are upheld at trusts as they know they are in breach of the Act.

And no it's highly unlikely to go to court as there is no loss to the hospital or parking company as you've paid, they cannot punish you for making mistakes, as that would be unlawful. So make the complaints

  • Thanks Stroma, the only problem being is that the incident took place in March 2013, I have had no contact with either CPP or the hospital itself. the deadline for appeals appears to have elapsed.

Complaints to the trust never elapses, they are your best chance of getting this cancelled, so a strong assertive one will help. The debt collectors who are powerless vermin should be ignored at this stage

How does that matter? Look at all the complaint successes in the sticky thread of that name, many of which were cancelled after a complaint months and months after the parking event.

And when you read that 'complaints' sticky thread post #3 you will also see the specific advice about who to complain to re a Hospital (and it's not just the Hospital).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
