And the guardian is correct. They cannot demand a receipt. But they can demand proof of purchase.
Exactly, which is why I thought that they would have records on their system for each item sold.. And that it would show up if they checked the barcode..

Not into that sort of stuff, although I did think about buying a new pair, and taking the old back with the receipt for the new pair. Would rather it not come to that.0 -

The display shoes are only the right shoe (unless it was one of the cheaper pairs where they are boxed but then I think they are tagged). When they get the pair from the stockroom to try on the staff member normally stays with them.0 -

The barcode will be unique to that brand, model and size of shoe, it will not point to one specific pair. If they sold 10 pairs in one particular month, they have no way of checking based on the barcode who bought which pair.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
