Parking Eye Fine

Hi everyone,
I'm sure you're all bored to tears of this but I have just received my 3rd letter from Parking Eye.
I received a fine (£60 if paid within 2 weeks) for parking in a retail park on match day in my local area. I stayed for just under 2 hours when the limit on match day is 1 hour, not that I knew this. Absolutely ridiculous as well considering its a huge retail park!!!!!
Anyway, I got the first letter, with pictures of me pulling in and out, did some looking around online and spoke to a few local people and went with the advice to ignore. I have since received a second letter and now the third whacking the fine up to £100.
Now I am unsure what to do and I am panicking!
Also, I have never acknowledged their letters.
I really don't want to end up paying these thieves!!!!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

its not a fine, never was, never will be , its a parking charge invoice
now please read the NEWBIES- READ THIS FIRST sticky thread at the top of the forum, 4th one down, then come back when you have deiced what to do about it and have a plan
thank you
also provide more details, like what region of the uk ?

Make complaints to the retail park (google them), and the retailers in the park, explain you were a genuine shopper and here are copies of receipts to show this. Also appeal to parking eye without admitting who was driving, so appeal as the registered keeper.
It's a ridiculous situation really, if you were not into football how would you reasonably know its a match day? Also match days would mean you would probably need more time to shop as the shops would be busier, not less! What a cash cow for them, which club was it by the way ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

It's in Hertfordshire, the Roaring Meg retail park.
The date I was there was the 16th Nov 2013, the first letter was issued on the 23rd.
What's worse is I met a friend in the Costa there so she has been receiving these letters as well! Ridiculous!0 -

the main problem is that you have ignored the letters when you should have followed the "walk through" linked in the sticky thread which gives you the appeal timeline , so the chances are you have left it too late to appeal
but that sticky thread also tells you to "appeal anyway" as registered keeper, trying to fish out a POPLA code to get it sorted out
it also mentions trying to get the landowner to cancel the charge too
all "ignoring" does is bring about your current situation , where it goes to debt recovery and then probably court (PE have been sending out lots of court papers recently)
so if you have a plan that may end it, now is the time to start, but I fear you have left it too late in this case
the advice given by stroma above was excellent as far as this one goes0 -
It's not a fine.0

Do it, and also do an online appeal (both of you) to Parking Eye NOW.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
