HB and CTB when Overseas

Hi all,

my lovely sister has offered me the following:

paid tickts to go overseas (asia)
a mcse (IT course)
A CCNA (IT course)

all fully paid for by her. accomodation will also be provided.

this works out £6000 cheaper than if i did the above courses in the UK and will give me a better chance of getting a job along with my 7 years experience that i have.

what i want to know is that if i do go then what wil happebn to my council tax and housing benefit?

i would appreciate it if someone could let me know and then i can decide to take on the offer.

How long will you be away for?

Can she not pay for your rent and council tax whilst you are away too?

well, she basically gets discounts - big discounts from her friend who will supply the ticket and accomodation. hence she will probly only pay 1000 pounds for everything. i dont want to ask her o pay my rent as that will sound too greedy - giving finger and taking hand thingy! i have a friend who tels me that they will pay housing benefit and ct benfit if im going away for up2 12 weeks - is that correct? i will be away for 8 weks.

thanks, i think that answers the quiestion....

so i can claim hb and ctb however my jobseekers will stop for that period.
