hi
We live in a flood risk area, and have been flooded twice in the last 7 years - both times due to multiple river-based calamities occurring (ie not just a bit of heavy rain on its own), both times with water surrounding the house, for 12-24 hours or so, before it started to drain away again.
Now the water never got higher than the door threshold, so didn't spill over the floor - it seeped up through the void and soaked the carpets & wooden flooring, necessitating replacement. Between the two times, we build a conservatory with a tiled concrete floor, and when the flood came on Christmas Eve
that had about an inch of water above the floor level, but the threshold is a little lower than the rest of the house so I presume the water came through the French doors.
The house only has two large airbricks either side of the chimney breast, but a good bit higher than the water level reached. I can only assume that ground water level has risen up to soak the floors internally - though I suppose it's also possible that the seals around the door frames were letting water into the void too.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

- Would fitting Flood Guard type systems do any good here (the kind of thing that puts a removably uPVC barrier over the doors to seal them) ?
- Does anyone have experience of using these kinds of system?
- If so, what's the likely cost...?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
