Moving house - what utility provider should I use?

Hi.
I am moving house in a few days and am after some advice about gas and electric suppliers.
It is a bigger house, so doing a usage comparison is tricky.
Is it best to use our existing provider (southern electric) or are any of the others offering good fixed price deals for new customers?
Thanks in advance.

The best idea idea if you have a rough idea of how much gas & electricity you are likely to use over a year is to use one of the many comparison sites.
Other than that, perhaps better to stick with who the current owners use until you get the first quarters bills, which will then be an indication of costs during some of the colder months with which you can then do a comparison. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Take over the existing supplier initially.
Ask the sellers if they'd mind giving you copies of their last years bills, or just tell you how may units they used per year.
Then shop around once you are in.0 -
Thanks for the advice. Moving tommorow - in a storm. Brilliant.0
