Experience needed. Pans!!! dishwasher safe

Options
I have trawled through past threads but cannot find the answers. I want to get a set of super duper pans that I can put in the dishwasher. I want these to be good enough to be the last pans I buy in my lifetime ie they`ve got to last until I`m 100

I want a good base and prefer not to have any teflon. I have never had any stainless steel so I need your experiences because I have read that they are good.

I already have a set of anolon and they`re good so one of my dd`s will have them. These new ones are going to be a real treat to myself but I need help

    Hi Kittie
I bought a huge set of Meyer stainless steel pans 3 years ago, was in my heady spending days and cost over £150, they still look brand new and are well used, through the diswasher everytime. At least 10 piece set including steamer/casserole 3 highsides saucepan and 3 wide shallow pans.

Only drawback is some of them are so big the don't fit on the hob rings.

Suffered several years of cheap teflon sets that never went the distance.

I see that le creuset is making a stainless steel pan now. Not as heavy as the original

I`ll be trying tk maxx as I might see a good buy there too. I know I`m not jumping into this one because I`ll have to live with them a long time

Yes they do and if you have a look at the link you will see some John Lewis own make saucepan sets. They are always good value and excellent quality. I think as a rule you should always spend as much as you can afford for things like saucepans.

I treated myself to some of the John Lewis ones about five years ago. They weren't cheap but looked great and seemed very high quality. I was taking one out of the dishwasher last week though (the one I use most) and noticed that the handle has almost completely broken off at the point where it is riveted to the saucepan. I was most fed up, as like OP, I had bought them on the basis that they would last a good 20 years (as had my previous set, which were much cheaper and thinner in quality when bought new)

    Take the pan back Nicky!!!
I have always found JL to be very quick to say sorry and replace anything that has broken. They have a great policy on faulty items!
