Control Humax Hdr-Fox T2 with Samsung LED TV Remote?

Hi all, just bought my ol' Mum a Samsung UE40F6500 LED Smart TV, but would like to be able to use the Samsung Smart Remote to control her Humax DVR box.

I've tried using the Universal Remote Control setup feature :oof the TV, but the DVR doesn't appear to be listed as a supported device.

Does anyone know whether it's possible to use the Smart Remote to control both the TV and Humax box?

Thanks lots!

You would do better controlling the TV from the Humax remote.

After all most of your interaction will be with the PVR, all you want with the TV is an on/off and volume.

Thanks, but as I want to use the more simple (my Mum needs the remote to be as simple as possible) and Smart feature enabled Samsung remote, this isn't a consideration. The Humax remote won't allow her to access the Smart features.

If she wants simplicity why does she have a Smart TV?
Anyhoo I guess you will have to look into universal remotes, although I doubt that many will map to a Humax PVR.

Maybe one of the Logitech Harmony range will work.

    1. The Logitech Harmony (mines a 300 I think) DOES work for a Foxsat HDR - I use one.
    2. As advised, the Humax remote can do the BASIC functions of the Samsung TV. If the Samsung's remote really is 'smart', maybe it'll have a code to control the BASIC functions of the Humax. If it's really, really smart, it might even be able to be told to copy the commands of the Humax remote (point them at each other, and let it 'see' what the Humax outputs).
    3. You're stuck with two remotes really, but a Harmony would get you by with most features.
