Car insurance - I can't remember how many years no claims bonus I have!

I'm currently shopping around online for car insurance quotes, but can't remember if I have 4 or 5 years no-claims bonus!
How would I find out?
I've never claimed on my car insurance, but it's not a simple case of just subtracting the date I passed my test from the current date, as a couple of years ago I forfeited about 4 months worth of no-claims I'd built up when I got a new car, and the insurance company at the time wanted £50 from me just to change the policy, so I cancelled the insurance and went somewhere else.
