Under the Distance Selling Regulations as long as you cancel by durable means (email is fine) within the required timescales then they can't refuse your cancellation. They have to refund you as soon as possible. They have a maximum of 30 days to do that.
A chargeback on the card is your simplest option I would imagine.0 -

Thank you for confirming that. I thought that I must have some right to cancel. I have posted something on their Facebook site now and if I don't have any luck, I shall quote the distance selling regulations at them next.0 -
