Why do I keep getting timed out?

Hi, I have noticed that if I read some forum posts for a few minutes I seem to get timed out automatically and have to re-log in. Is there a way to stop this happening?

It's to do with your own browser settings. I have the same problem, I'm using Mozilla Firefox. It didn't happen when I used IE8.
I've researched it through posting on the Tech forum and also on Mozilla's own site but as yet haven't found a way to prevent it. Oddly it only happens on certain sites, this being one of them.
Sorry I couldn't have been more help but at least you know you're not on your own.0 -
Hi all,
You may end up logged out for various reasons. After a long period of inactivity you will be logged out. Or it can be down to something we are using to track you for the purposes of keeping you logged in - cookies amongst other things - being lost or changing. This can be caused by software on your machine,. Or even your ISP, which can be beyond your control. But as a result you will end up logged out.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. I appreciate it can be annoying. But it is worth keeping in mind the reason why the forums will log you out at the drop of a hat. Security. We won't take risks with your account. We will always play it safe and make you login again if it's the right thing to do to protect the security of your account. Hopefully it doesn't happen too often.
