re: credit boost

Hi there,

I always pay off my credit cards in full, on of the things experian moans about is that "my highest credit limit is low" (500),

to get this raised should i pay half the balance for a month or two, (so i pay interest).

would this look bad, look good, or should i just continue doing what i have been doing, (pay in full and sometimes over).

i've just applied for another card, hopefully that will have a higher limit...

thanks

Take Experians recommendations and advice with a pinch of salt.

Your highest credit limit being low is unlikely to concern potential lenders if everything else is in order.

Low credit limits with a decent income should go in your favour. But ignore credit scores given. You can have a perfect score yet still get refused credit.

The lenders have their own set of rules and they wont tell you what they are.

One lender may like customers that are close to their limits and pay minimum payments + say £100. So they earn a nice bit of interest from you.
Another may see that as poor and only want customers that pay most months and only go over a couple of times a year.
