Sat nav voltage

Have a look at the tiny writing on the charger it came with. It should have the input voltages on it.
Otherwise you'll need an adaptor for it.0 -
Garmin Nuvis usually operate on 5volts.
The standard cigarette lighter socket plug adaptor supplied with it can convert either 12 or 24 volt to the required lower voltage.
You'll find the spec written on the plug and/or in the instruction manual.
Here's mine:
Input: 10-30 VDC, 1 Amp (max)
Output: 4.75-5.25 VDC 1.0 Amp
Fuse specs: 1 Amp/250 VAC0 -
We are thinking of buying a Garmin nuvi 52 LM sat nav for the car. Does any one know if you can use it in a lorry which is 24v without a voltage dropper? I know some gadgets are universal and will work on 12 or 24volt.
Thank you in advance.0 -
Not in a larger vehicle. They can be 24volt. Unless they have a dropper to bring that down to 12 volts.
I killed a speed camera detector by plugging it into the wrong socket in a lorry.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
