Suggestions for new printer?

Ok, Epson have fixed it so that my D92 no longer accepts generic cartridges and, to me, this renders it useless so it will be heading for the dump.
I've held off buying a replacement till now as I thought there might be some offers in the sales.
Can anyone point to any offer on a fairly simple, straightforward printer/copier combo which does NOT need cartridges costing the earth? Epson suggestions will be steadfastly ignored!
I am not into anything other than pretty basic printing of documents, no photographic stuff etc.
