Help!!?!!
Got our dog a new bed - one of the large plastic types and he gets blankets inside it. Wonderful
Except
The cat keeps peeing in it !! At first I just cleaned it and washed the blankets but it's not becoming a daily occurence and it's really getting to me  I'm pregnant atm and just wanting this sorted before starting to get baby things in as if he then pees on baby things it's a whole other issue.
It's not a medical problem so no use in going to the vets, he has been and has no signs of infection.
any advice ??

When my cats not happy with litter tray eg new type of litter or ive moved it somewhere, she pees in the bath. I guess those plasticy dog beds are the same type of surface.0

What are you cleaning the bed with? If you are using something that contains bleach you are creating somewhere that smells of urine to your cat, creating the perfect area for a wee.0

I only use Formula H pet disenfectant or the Cat enzyme cleaner
Just back from pets at home and have bought a spray that supposedly keeps cats away but wether it will work or not is another issue.
Have also bought him his own bed... he doesn't have one as didn't tend to sleep in one before but thought maybe he is jealous or something.0 -
If you ever figure out a way to stop it then please share it.
We've had this problem ongoing for years. It got so bad at one point we were having to wash the dog daily - which is extremely hard work with a not very keen to be washed german shepherd.
In the end we solved it by keeping the dog in the living room at night - previously they all shared the utility room, but as dog is now 10 and her bladder sometimes cannot last the night, she has gone back into utility to sleep and the whole lot has started again.
We have ended up with a waterproof inner bed for the plastic dog bed, which makes cleaning the bed easier, and we move the bed into living room in daytime, but the dog sometimes still reeks of cat pee and often needs washing as she will sleep in the pee.
Cats have enough beds and one spare, litter trays, access to outdoors but they still do it.0 -

My dog is a GSD too, thankfully we don't need to wash him too as he doesn't go in it when cat has peed. His toys all had to be washed though as they were in it.
My pets have been testing my patience today :mad:0
