Hi all, thanks for the replies, I was a bit worried about serving it to my dad as he is almost 89, so I went with the trifle instead. I think I will bin the gateau, it was given to us by MIL as she bought too many last year and didn't have room in her freezer, so it didn't cost us anything.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

We had a similar cake in the freezer for 2 years, that I had just forgotten about
Took it out and defrosted it for Christmas day, and well the lot of us are still here :rotfl: I tasted a bit first once defrosted and had a standy by just incase, but it was fine
