Woking council ticket
Qn1
Hi all,
I have been looking through these forums for a while and have realised the process for appealing a ticket from private companies.
I received a ticket a few months ago from Woking council for leaving my car without a ticket on a residential street. I was visiting my sister on a Sunday, I left my car overnight into Monday morning, when ticket requirement came in to action. Unfortunately I didn't leave a ticket displayed and when I came back I had a fine on the windscreen.
The registered keeper is my father, he received a standard letter after the 14 day period saying the fine had increased, and has since received another saying it has increased again.
Is there any way of appealing, and getting these types of tickets revoked or is it too late?

You may well have overshot the relevant period.
For specific expert guidance take yourself off to PePiPoo Council Parking Tickets forum - Click HereMy very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Thanks for the link.
Do you think it would be worth getting my father to contact them and let them know that I was the driver, give them my address and then when they get in touch with me as the driver at the time, I can plead and ask if I can pay the £35 charge which was due within 14 days?0 -
It really would be best to start a new thread on PePiPoo (make sure you attach photos/scans of every document you've received from the council, front and back, including original ticket). They do specialise in council tickets and they will be able to easily answer your query.
However, and more importantly, they will also be able to spot any irregularity in the council's paperwork (most of them botch it up at some stage) which might mean you not even having to pay at the reduced rate.
HTHPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Nope because a Council PCN is the responsibility of the owner, not the driver. You need proper constructive advice from pepipoo so show them your PCN, both sides please, and all pages of all the subsequent paperwork. Sounds like your Dad is stuffed for ignoring what could have been appealed, with some success, if he'd done so in time. Why the heck would anyone NOT appeal after getting a Notice to Owner, then let it get to Charge Certificate (triple charge) stage? Bailiffs next, after the Order for Recovery...stop burying your heads in the sand please...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
