I am after getting a new laptop to use for emails, surfing, Microsoft Office and Photo shop applications etc.

I was thinking about getting the HP Pavillion 15 here

None Touch
Web Exclusive Price £399.00
Price in store £449.99

Intel® Core™ i5-4200U processor
Windows 8
Memory: 8 GB
Hard drive: 1 TB

Then I found out about a touchscreen one for £50 more ? Does the A8 chip make much difference from the i5 performance wise ?

AMD A8-4555M processor
Windows 8

This laptop is down as havining Bluetooth. It also seems to me that Windows 8 is almost more suited to touchscreen use.

Basically I intend to use this laptop for the next few years so I want to make a wise choice now.
Which laptop to buy ? I would be interesting in your thoughts....

Get the i5 over the A8 processor.

I don't rate HP laptops though, I find they tend to have very poor cooling and cheap build quality. Each to their own however, just my opinion based on past machines etc.

I have not had an HP laptop before. If you know of something similar with same kind of spec...please post.

Consumer HP laptops (Pavilion range) are a bit plasticky.

    I got an HP EliteBook i5 M540 8440p off t'Bay for £325 and it's rock-solid on Windows 7.
