What's the best landline deal if I rarely make outgoing calls

I need a landline for broadband and incoming calls, but rarely make any outgoing calls. The few times that I do, they're usually local.
I'm currently with BT. I've been meaning to check out better deals and move for ages, just haven't had the time. But, hoping to change that and get back into some money saving in the new year
I don't mind being tied into a contract as long as it saves me money and they have good customer service.
Can anyone recommend any good deals?

I am a satisfied customer, with much same needs as you yours
However I only use the limited broadband option, do not play games, watch films, catch up tv etc, so may not suit youWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -

There has been no such thing as 'local' calls for many years now. Landline calls cost the same regardless of distance in the UK. What matters is the time of day when you make those few calls: weekend, evening, or daytime. Choose your tariff accordingly.
All telcom contracts require a minimum term contract.
Since broadband is exchange-specific, start with an exchange search on samknows.comNo free lunch, and no free laptop
