taxi driver insurance

I am a taxi driver, my girlfriend wants to put me on her insurance policy (annual cost £200 for her only). When we mention I am a taxi driver they wanted £500. I lease my taxi (8 seats including the driver) and am usually driving it most of the time.
I would only be a second driver on her policy and rarely drive her car.
Is there another legit occupation I can put down that will not increase her policy so much.
A minibus has between 9-16 seats.
Could I be classed as a Hire Car Driver.

Are you a hire car driver? Doesnt sound like you are delivering hire cars.
You could look at private hire driver if you are private hire and not hackney plated.
Are you a sole trader, employee or operate your own limited company? If you are the later then saying you are a Director is accurate
Almost all driving professions push up quotes significantly, if you are a young driver, have claims or points etc then that can be pushing it up rather than your job0 -
If you are driving a car (/minibus/van etc) with the word 'taxi' on it, then it would be very difficult to convince an insurer that, for rating purposes, you are anything other than a taxi driver.
There's a big difference between having an occupation that genuinely spans several descriptions, and picking a 'cheaper' occupation that is a poorer description of your job than the original one. You're also likely to set off alarm bells at the insurer if you've already got a quote as a taxi driver.0 -
There is an MSE tool you can play with to see if different job descriptions help reduce the premium whilst not cheating:
