I am trying to factory reset my daughters laptop but although I can get into the F8 screen when I go into repair it won't take the passwords at all. Keeps saying it is wrong. I also tried the F11 and Ctrl on boot up but must be doing it wrong as it doesn't work, any other ideas please? Trying to avoid having to buy another as it went wrong Xmas Day evening, typical.

Don't bother with the remove battery method. This hasn't worked on Dell laptops for quite a few years. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Have you tried pressing enter without putting in a password? In the recovery screen, it will ask for a user password, but if you don't have a password, just carry on without putting one in.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Have a look at this and if you need to contact them there may be a cheaper way than their 0844 number.
