Hi.
Were going to see Dirty Dancing in a couple of weeks (were jammy enough to get some last minute). just wondered if someone can reccomend somewhere to eat nearby... generally good food/value. would be good if they have a pre-theatre menu!
never done london so help appreciated!

If you want decent pub food then the Coal Hole on the Strand is pretty good. If you fancy reasonable pasta reasonably cheap, try the place in Covent Garden Market. A bit 'al fresco'-conveyor belt but good value.
There's a smashing bistro about half-way up Southampton Street - 2 courses for about £7.99 last time we went. It gets a bit busy but the food is very good. We go there a lot.
For something quite extraordinary, Sarastros on Drury Lane - you have to see it to believe it. There is also Salieri on The Strand which is part of the same group. Not to everyone's taste but certainly an experience.
There are also the usual fast food restaurants along The Strand but if you try some of the side streets in and around Covent Garden, there are plenty of bistros, restaurants and pubs.0 -
we went to see dd in november last year and we ate in planet hollywood using our tesco vouchers. It had good menu and was only a short taxi ride away0

If you don't mind taking a small gamble, try visiting www.toptable.co.uk - loads of deals on eating out in London, and we've had a couple of really superb (and cheap!) meals booked through the site. There are also customer reviews so you can get an idea of what you're in for...0

Its called bistro 1. put bistro Southampton street in google and you will be able to have a look. Went there myself a few weeks ago with friends when we went to Dirty Dancing. Food great, varied menu with 3 courses for about £11. Staff very friendly and place had a really nice atmosphere. Would highly reccommend and will return.Jan Grocery challenge
