  • Evening people

    Today I:
    * [STRIKE]went to the cinema this afternoon, used my unlimited card and took fruit and water with me so that I didn't buy any sweeties[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]went to Morrisons and spent £4 on a tonne of reduced food that will be going in my freezer once I have done my 'freezer audit' tomorrow[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]went into Superdrug and bought some shampoo etc that was on offer and used their points card to knock £2 off the total[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]went out with a friend this evening and I didn't spend any money as lovely friend paid for my food[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]collected 2 tops that I bought in the sale which are for work[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]will be meal planning for the next week and doing an online shop following on from this[/STRIKE]
    * will be doing a freezer audit
    * will be doing a cupboard audit
    * will be doing a spice rack audit
    * will be doing a tupperware audit

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

    Evening all,
    Quite a good day, really:
-Did laundry overnight on Economy 7. Timer set for same again tonight.
-Went to have a look at the Sales. Nothing there that I liked enough to buy. Mr f got 2 lovely shirts half price. Used our clothes 'piggy' so bank account untouched.
-Took packed lunch with us which saved paying out for someone else to make us some sandwiches.
-Made 2 pasta bakes for freezer to use up last of the Christmas ham & some of the Stilton.
    -Made bread.
-Transferred all the toiletries I received for Christmas to my stash basket. Am nicely stocked up & shouldn't need to buy anything for a good while.
-No heating on until 5pm, as we were out most of the day anyway.
    Bye for now,

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Hello folks,

Back from my bargain break in london :D

It was lovely to get away with hubby, we have walked miles as it helps with the fitness and also it is free.....back to reality though and back to my money saving ways....

So I have/will (only counting the things from when I got home as I have spent a bit of money this weekend)
    • Put change into pots
    • Dinner from stores
    • Prepared breakfast for tomorrow
    • Need to prepare lunch for tomorrow (there's no canteen)
    • Need to have a quick shower
    • Booked a hotel for a friends 30th....used quidco and just booked for one night

    Think that is about it

    Take care all

    Hi all!

Yesterday was a low spend for me, keeping it within my £15.

Today has been a NSD (I love those!) and I've also had a financial talk with my Dad. I'm no longer paying them rent and instead will put that money against paying my loan off that bit quicker.

Unfortunately, Lloyds decided to close early so I couldn't change the repayment amount today. :(

I need to go down and sort some lunch/snacks out for Monday/Tuesday as I'm working!
  • New to the forum but after reading comments on here last night I realised I needed to start doing the little things too.

    Today I...
    1. Washed the dishes by hand instead of using the dishwasher
    2. Hung up clothes to dry instead of using the tumble dryer
    3. Put a pair of socks on when I got cold instead of turning the heating up!

I have also had a massive heart to heart with hubby this morning and we have spent the entire day trying to overhaul our finances! Not easy while trying to occupy two children but I am determined we will be organised by then end of the night!

Any other little tips on saving money are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks all.
