Hi
Does anyone know if this R7 bulb:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Replacement-Energy-Saving-Security-J118mm/dp/B00925VI4Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388179011&sr=8-1&keywords=r7+led
Will work with this Argos floodlight?
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4326333.htm
I have heard of some PIR floodlights not working with LED replacement...
Any ideas please?

even if did fit, and did work, 10w is not going to be equivalent brightness to a 400w halogen

Yes, thanks saw it but already have the one fitted above, you could be on the right track tho. Do you know if the one in your (closed) link is thro away item once dead or can you change the "LED bulb"?0

It doesn't look replaceable, and usually cheaper elsewhere

Yes, I think you have shown the way to go, it should last at least 2 years by the look of things, probably best to get a brand new unit afterall!
Many thanks.0 -
The cables on this style tend to be short, possible requiring a junction box if the cable isn't easy to rewire.

Luckily i put the feed to it and left about 4ft spare slack. Also its replaced a 120w not 400w so should be fine. The real reason im changing is because i hate going up ladders to changed the tungsten one. (every 3 months or so)0

Yes this is more of a kitchen light. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

Many thanks.
Just bear in mind that the lumen (light) output is about 3 times less than a standard 120W tungsten halogen lamp, so it won't be anywhere near as bright.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
I purchased the identical LED one for a non-PIR light fitting and it works well. Not as bright as the original tungsten tube but perfectly adequate for illuminating the garden. Still quite bright and a good softer clean white light.0
