where to invest £30,000 short term

Hi,
My partner and I are going travelling in September for 4 months and we are selling our flat.
So we will have £30,000 sitting in the bank ready for a deposit on a new property when we return.
Do you have any suggestions as to where we could invest this money whilst we are away? However, we would need to get access to it when we return.
Thanks.
Karen.

If it's only for four months then I'd look at maxing out cash ISA investments (if you pay tax), and put the rest in a high interest current account. STicky threads on both are at the top of this forum and the child isa forum.Debbie0

Another word. Sainsbury's.
0.05% more. Seems to be a simple setup. For me I didn't have to send in any ID as they verified me electronically. If there's a good reason not to go with them and go with Icesave instead then please let me know as I am about to transfer quite a lot of money into Sainsbury's.0 -
