Replacing all TV/DVD etc equipment

No, not a major brand unfortunately
It might well be an El cheapo product, so I'd actually follow ckerrd's advice and go for a normal good TV, and a VCR/DVD/freeview combo that you can actually find in Argos. The TV, which can be expensive, can be a long term investment, while the former, affordable, can be replaced.
To be honest, I had troubles finding a TV/FreeView/DVD combo, hence the El Cheapo model I linked to.0 -
Thanks very much to all who replied and offered advice, I think I'm a bit further on now
Just one final query if you can bear with me a bit longer. I quite fancy the idea of the combined Panasonic DVD/VCR and Freeview item that Cricri linked to at Argos. Haven't had the chance to speak to MIL about it yet, she gets back from holiday tomorrow, and I hope to present her with a definite short-list of a very few options because if I'm confused what will it be like for her????
With this she'll need a no-frills telly. She wants LCD with a 20 inch screen and a lot of them have a digital tuner built in, obviously future-proof.
Would there be any problem running a DVD/VCR combo with Freeview incorporated, as well as a TV with a digital tuner?
Sorry to be a pain:o . All this is doing my head in:eek:0 -
No, it shouldn't be a problem at all, they won't conflict.
Old style TVs, like old VCR, both contain a TV tuner, and they didn't conflict either.
By the way, I'm not the one who suggested the combi on Argaos, I just said it seemed a better idea than mine0 -
Thanks Cricri. You're right, it was ckerrd who suggested that one! Many thanks to him/her.
I think between us we've got it sorted now:beer: . If MIL agrees to this combination I won't be bothering you again.
Take care
