Thoughts on Flights to Australia Please?

Hi, travelling to Australia in March and have narrowed down my choice of flights (mainly by price) between Emirates, Royal Brunei and Cathay Pacific.
Other airlines I've never heard of or are too expensive.
Does anybody have any specific advice and experience regarding in particular, ease of seat reservation, availability of decent food (I'm vegetarian) and inflight entertainment.
Many thanks.

I would fly Emirates from the above airlines you have mentioned
Far superior carrier than the other two by far

+1 for Emirate but if not then Singapore Airlines are great if you get the right flight you only have to do a 90 mins layover in Singapore0

Our Aussie friends will only fly over here with Emirates, go with them if you can0

Well, that's pretty conclusive! Thank you.
Have added Qantas to my list as they are only tiny amount over Emirates and do seem to have quite good reviews.
Can anybody comment on my particular requirements - ability to reserve a particular seat, food and entertainment?0 -
Quantas code share with BA and the worst flight I have been on was one from Miami with BA. Second Emirates here I have used them a lot and never had an issue. Royal Brunei I think is a dry airline I am not a heavy drinker but I like a couple of G & Ts on a long flight.0

I thought the Quantas BA codeshare had come to an end?Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
Emirates code share with Qantas now connecting through Dubai. I have flown Cathay to New Zealand, and i think they are great. Emirates are a brilliant airline as well0

EK and QF have a JSA with codeshares via DXB.
BA and QF no longer have a JSA.
BA and CX have codeshares via HKG.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Hi, don't know about specific airlines but I got my flights to Canada considerably cheaper by flying out of Dublin even with factoring in flights to Dublin it was way cheaper. Henry0

My eldest son is going in March to visit his brother who lives in Brisbane, and is going with Cathay Pacific. We are going in September and have just booked with Singapore Airlines (got a really good price) We have chosen our seats including top deck on an Airbus A 380 on the Sydney to Singapore leg on the return journey. I looked at a lot of reviews and couldn't find anything bad about Singapore Airlines, so decided to go with them. All the principal airlines seem to have their fans, so you're probably ok with any of them. There seem to be some good sales at the moment.0
