Installing under kitchen unit lighting advice please

Looking at this project in the New Year but wanted to guage the help now, please as I have an L-shapes kitchen unit setup
I assume they all have to link together to plug in.
I would like to instal 5 lights in total but my layout may prove a bit tricky for this as 3 cabinets run along one wall, then there is the hob/oven area, one more cabinet along that wall then there is a single unit on another wall after the sink in a kind of L-shape.
It would be a basic setup-just out of the box set like lights/wires transformer and wall plug but i'm assuming that my big issue is running a wire from the last unit across the sink? (there is no power socket under this last unit)
Any advice appreciated as usual

They don't all have to run off of the same switch. It's not uncommon to have 2 or 3 areas controlled independently. It's really only when you have major works that you can have them all run together as the cables will need to buried in the wall etc.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
