Car insurance "homeowner question"

My car insurance application has a question of whether I am a home owner or not? Does it mean my registered address?

I ask because I currently rent the house I live in but also own a property for letting out. So should I tick the box or not?

Thanks

Just answer the question as it is asked. If it just says 'are you a homeowner?' then answer yes, if it says are you a homeowner AND is that home your permanent address? Then answer no.

I'm always unsure what to put if the property is in your spouse's name. If you out that you aren't a homeowner it then asks if you rent or live with family, so would I use the latter?

If it says do you have an enormous mortgage which you are stuggling to pay, and may well default on, say Yes.
If you pay a nominal rent for your own company's luxury penthouse suite, say No.

Let them draw the conclusions. :)
