I bank with a high street bank for 16 -18 years olds and want to update my account. I am a student over 18 now, but have no student loan and thus no monthly fixed income other than what I earn for part time work, trying to find a bank account that can give me an overdraft ( if needed) without penalties. what can you recommend? It appears all student accounts that you list need student loans into them. Thank you

If you are a student with part time income - unless you apply for a student overdraft most banks will decline you as you won't have sufficent credit rating.
You could try for a credit building credit card - the limit offered will be your ''overdraft''.0 -

First post he says he has 16-18 year old account turned 18 wanting an overdraft and no student loan (why?).
Where has he had time to build up a credit rating?
Is he at Uni at all (we do not know) he could be at a tech or on a course which is not eligible for a student account.0
