Exchange Faulty item

Hi,

I bought a pair of boots which had 25% off. I've had them 3 weeks and the heel is coming away from the boot.

If I take them back and ask for an exchange, will I be required to pay the difference as they are now at full price?

Thanks

Or they may decide to refund rather than repair or replace. (They'll choose whichever option is least costly for them).
