Help choosing a camera please

Hi, I have a budget of around £100. I just want a easy to use camera which will take good pics. I'm not a photographer at all so I literally just point and take.

I quite like the look of the canon ixus 135 http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/cameras/digital-cameras/compact-digital-cameras/canon-ixus-135-advanced-wifi-compact-digital-camera-black-21260861-pdt.html#longDesc

Or the canon A3500 : http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1019870.htm

For the last 8 years I've had a sony cyber shot w30 which I was happy with but the child dropped it and it's broke. As it's so old I didn't see the point in paying to get it fixed.

Any help greatly received thanks x

I have a Canon Ixus100 that was a gift to me about four years ago. I think it's an excellent camera and can do a bit more than simple point and shoot. It takes very good photos and videos and the battery lasts a long time.

I don't know how much mine cost as it was a gift but it's far better than a Pentax compact camera I used to have (unfortunately it was stolen) The AA batteries didn't last very long, unlike the Li-on battery on the Canon.

I used it to take some really good photos and videos in Rome earlier this year.

I'm actually thinking of buying myself a DSLR camera as I'm going on holiday soon. I doubt I'll ever have the chance to visit the country again so thought I should get an even better camera for my once in a lifetime visit. However my son, who knows a lot more about cameras than I do, tells me not to waste my money as my camera can do such a lot with the features it has. He was showing me how to use it more effectively and I'm now having second thoughts.

A great advantage of this camera is that it's so small and light so it can be easily carried.

I got an Ixus for Christmas and really rate it. Easy to use and great results, used it straight from the box and am now reading the book and looking at all the features.

I have cameras from point and shoot to mid rnge DSLR's to professional DSLR's

I would also recommend the Canon IXUS , might be worth looking at the Nikon Coolpix S4200 has 3200 ISO compared to 1600 of the canon, 80 lower end opposed to 100.

If you want to compare camera features side by side then findyogi is good.
