Tour operators producing Price-less Brochures?

Postie has just delivered a copy of the Canvas holidays 2014 brochure. Flicking through I could not find any information about prices. (Just invitations to ring them or book on line)

Are any other holiday companies putting out ‘price-less’ brochures?

Why would they do this?
Is it a good / bad thing?

    What operators are doing this?

We have our prices in the brochures

To be honest they are only ever guides anyhow its best usually to call or visit us to get prices

  • Del - I think you are right about brochure prices being a starting point.

The brochure I got today is from Canvas Holidays - part of Wyndham Vacation Rentals.

Their nicely produced, 143 page brochure - describes 90 locations in 10 European countries - but has no prices.

I think it is odd and a bit off-putting.

I'm curious about whether this is the start of a new trend.

It's a common sales technique when trying to sell something with is overpriced (or "exclusive"/"luxury" etc). They want to look into every other aspect of the product before looking at the price. Similar to "hard sell" techniques - the price is never mentioned till the end.

Yes and It's usually hard to work out prices from brouchure as they'll have all kinds of extras you need to add on like flight/accomodation supplements, extra if you want to take a bag, flight meal, transfer, etc etc.

May as well DIY as the pricing is usually clearer :rotfl:
