Is anyone having problems with the search boxes?

Hi,
I went on here for the first time after getting my new phone which is a Sony Experia SP.
But, the native browser which is Chrome, and crap anyway, brought the search boxes up but as soon as I started to type, or even as soon as my keypad came up, the search box disappeared. I tried Firefox, and 'Next', the Android browser, and it happened with all of them, box disappeared.
Thinking it might be my phone at fault, my son tried it on his phone, and tablet, and it happened to him too??
So just wondered if this is happening to anyone else?
Thanks,
Candy.

Yep, the dropdown ones don't work for me.
If I click in the box to type, then the phone/tablet keyboard is activated, and that seems to take the focus away from the input box, which in turn causes the dropdown to disappear.
If you click on Advance Search underneath then you should be able to search from that. If you just fill in the keyword section on that and then click "search now" ignoring all the other options, it will give the same results as the quick dropdown search would do.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks Fermi, but is this just a temporary glitch?

Same thing happens on other sites using the same version of forum software that we have here, so no, I think it may not just be a temporary glitch?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Oh darn it! It never happened on my old Samsung Galaxy Ace. Oh well, I've already found out that an upgraded phone isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Different phone/tablet/software probably handles that sort of input box differently then, depending on what device you have. All I know is that those vBulletin ones don't work on this tablet.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I'll try and alert the MSE techie team to this thread. May be something they can do to make it work OK with more devices?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi guys,
Thank you for highlighting the issue. I can't promise it will be fixed, however, we have in the pipeline a forum redesign.
As outlined in Martins blog, we are working towards making MSE mobile friendly so that you can browse most of MSE on mobile or tablet and get the best experience possible. This will also include fixing the issue highlighted here.
Thanks,
