CCJ but who for?

Hi everyone,

I have checked my statutory report with Equifax this morning and have a CCJ from January 2010 that I had no idea about.

How can I find out who this was for? I don't remember ever having any letters etc, but it was a long time ago. I had moved from the address in AUgust 2009, 5 months before the court date was held.

Thanks for any help.

As you will not know the Court, your local one will be a dead end. Contact the source - Registry Trust who, for the inevitable fee, will provide all the relevant details of the creditor.

If you have updated any address details on the credit agency, the file will be flagged up to debt collectors and they will be all over you.
    You need to act quickly.
    Be happy...;)

Credit reports include the name of the court that issued the CCJ, so you can ask the court direct.

Also the registry trust does not hold details of the claimant, so paying their fee to just get that would be an utter waste of money.

The Register does not contain details of the claimant. This information is available, to the defendant, from the relevant county court.

  • Thanks, the credit report does give details of the court so I will ring them asap.
