Ok, thanks for that, I can see my posting a 'new' thread has upset the board. That wasn't my intention, I don't post here often, it is simply a mistake.
I hold my hands up, yes, I am 'ignorant' about the way a court works, so are lots of people on here that need help. Many of us never see inside a court and have no dealings with them, including debt collectors. Threatening letters can and do incite stress, there are plenty of posters here who have been similarly stressed by this.0 -

agreed, but you previously received several answers to the exact same questions that you have posed today , so the advice is not going to change, just click on those links and you will see exactly what the advice was back then, which is the same now, and will be the same if you get another debt collector letter in the future too
just seems pointless to me asking questions on topics already answered in your previous threads on the same subject. myself , spacey , coupon-mad , stroma , ho87 , fil-cad all gave you good advice a month ago about this in your LBCCC thread
obviously it is stressful, nobody is saying it isnt, but those debt collectors will keep sending out letters and threatograms until they eventuall give up and refer it back to creditor , that is why there is a whole section (post #4) about debt collectors in the NEWBIES thread

you should have actually found your previous thread and posted into it as a reply, not started another new thread about it, I remembered answering you before so searched for your previous threads to check what advice you were given and repeated it
this thread here by killowen https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4846595 is exactly the same0 -
I apologise for not finding the previous thread and posted on as a reply, it is simply a mistake.
It would seem my post has upset the board, so thanks to those who have tried to help, but I will not be posting here again.0 -

you have not upset the board , but sometimes good advice is hard to swallow, and the info is all here for you to read , you were also replied to twice a month ago (in two previous threads)
as for this thread, I have asked a forum staff member to merge it with your previous thread , for clarity
if you get an LBA or LBCCC or court papers I strongly advise you to seek advice from here again, in order to defend yourself , same if you get a reply from EXCEL too , regardless of what it may say
our intention is to help you to help yourself, but I am not conviced you have read post #4 of the newbies thread properly, nor do I think you fully understand the situation you are in , which is why many people like myself tried to help a month ago, so despite what you think about me or others on here, I have given you the info you need and links to relevant threads
if you feel so strongly about this, then send a robust letter to the DC denying the debt and referring it back to the creditor , EXCEL , which it definitely mentions in that post #4
there is no "magic wand" to make it "go away" , so you have to deal with it, warts and all , even though its unpleasant and stressful , these companies do not realise the stress they place on others, neither do they care about it either , so if you thought it was bad for you then please read this diabolical treatment of lainiee here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4802567 which shows how bad it can really get for people going about their business
in these cases , the "punishment" never fits the "crime"0 -

Hello felicity1,
I've merged your two threads together, it helps to keep all the relevant information in one place which makes it easier for both you and our forum regulars to keep track of what's happening and be in the best position to help you.
I hope you will continue to post on MSE0 -
Felicity, you have been given excellent advice on here. I know it can seem overwhelming at first but most of us started where you are now - which a parking charge and no knowledge of the process.
As well as reading the links you have been directed to, have a look at this thread
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4798323
It concerns a charge by excel which was cancelled because the driver had paid, but had made a mistake when inputting the car registration number.
If you have not already done so, I suggest you write to excel, giving the PCN number, your vehicle registration number, date, rough time of entry to car park/purchase of ticket. Include a copy of the ticket. Explain calmly but firmly that the driver did obtain and display a ticket, but that you believe the registration number was incorrectly entered and ask Excel to check their records of registration numbers entered around that time, for one similar to the registration of your vehicle. Tell them that you are confident that they will see that this was simply user error, and ask them to cancel the ticket. If you have any receipts for spending on that day also enclose those and point out that you were a genuine customer.
Copy the letter to the Peel Centre with a copy of your ticket and any receipts, and explain that you were a genuine customer

Hope this helps

I would furnish them with vehicle registration, PCN no, rough time of entry to car park/purchase of ticket , date etc. In fact, everything they might need to check it out.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
