just a query i have a 3 year old philips tv it only has scart and rc inputs
is it possible for the laptop to be connected to the tv with svideo-rc convertor? many thanks

not with svid connector but if you get a scan convertor for about £20 you can take a feed from the monitor output and put that into the TV.0
