Hey
Can anybody help with this one...
I have at least 2 squirrells who have camped out in the loft.
They return daily up the outside drain pipe and under the tiles into the loft, ive even put vandal paint on the pipe. I know they keep coming back because I can see hair on the vandal paint.
Im worried of the damage they are causing.
Can anybody help advise on the best course of action/detterent?
Thanks in advance

Surely the only way you'll stop them is to block the hole they're getting in through.0

Block the gaps with chicken wire. (drain pipe, roof entry etc.) hurry before they start laying their eggs.0

These are very nice lightly poached with a hint of paprika !
Alternatively squirrel pie with shortcrust pastry and a red wine sauce. Yum !There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Robowen,
How dare you offer such a cruel and unjust remedy for this problem, good god, I would not inflict a picture of my mother-in-law on ANY creature, no matter how bad the are!!
I am sure in the past my mother-in-law's picture was used to ward off vampires.
Sorry Jaybo, this aint helpin is it!!! Am I right in saying that squirrels are protected, or is that just red ones? Anway I think there is a limit to what you can do, have you contacted the council and see what they say? But have to agree with other, block the entry point, if too high up look at your local paper etc. to find a "handyman" to do it for you. The cost of a handyman may be cheaper than repairing the damage they leave behind. What goes around - comes around

try calling the RSPCA, they may come and remove them for you, once they're in.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

Sorry, I was mistaking with flying pigs which lay eggs I believe. :rotfl:0 -

Just seen that I got thanked for this.
What's so strange about that?
Why am I mentioning it?
It was by the great man himself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MSE Martin WOW !
I can only assume he has (or had) this problem himself, is facinated by the subject of extermination (wonder if he watches Dr Who for the Dalek bits?), find squirrels interesting, or thinks that squirrel pie is an excellent way of saving money by replacing a trip to Tesco to purchase a chicken by nipping "upstairs" (into the attic/loft), hunting and capturing live fresh prey for a really healthy and hearty meal.
Or then again he has never tried his squirrel eggs "lightly poached with a hint of paprika" before and is grateful for this recipe tip.RedOnRed wrote:They don't lay eggs. They're mammals. They just eat eggs.
Take all the eggs out of your loft (silly place to keep them if you ask me and WHY so do you have many?).
Since the squirrels "just eat eggs", then they will starve to death !gravitytolls wrote:try calling the RSPCA, they may come and remove them for you, once they're in.Mr_Warren wrote:Sorry, I was mistaking with flying pigs which lay eggs I believe. :rotfl:
However yesterday I did see a guy in the street really struggling to lay some paving slabs. He did seem to be pulling strange faces with the larger 3 feet by 2 feet ones !
HOWEVER, to get back to the original question and be serious for a moment.jaybo wrote:I have at least 2 squirrells who have camped out in the loft.
Why don't you just TAKE THEIR TENT AWAY !!! ?

You can get squirrel traps on ebay fairly cheaply.
Then have the ultimate revenge and EAT the fluffly little vermin.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
