My PC clock loses lumps of time when it is switched off, could this be a symptom that the motherboard battery requires changing?
The PC is on all day and the clock actually runs slightly fast but it has done this from day one. Its running XP pro and is about 8 years old.

I got a battery this morning, just fitted it, bios clock had to be re-set at switch on but hopefully that will be the solution :T0
