Amazon: sold book xmas eve - dispatch time too long?

I sold a book via Amazon on christmas eve night. My first opportunity to get to the post office is tomorrow. Obviously, this is going to take my dispatch time to over the recommended 48hrs. Will this affect my account performance/stats etc? Its a tiny, thin, light book so could go as a letter rather than a small package. Any advice?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I haven't sold on Amazon for months now, but unless it is changed then yes you will show as having exceeded the despatch time. they seem as bad as eBay for ignoring bank holidays when calculating despatch.
However, it may have changed, it will say when you go to mark it as sent whether it is 'late' or not.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I sold some Amazon stuff late on Christmas Eve, I printed the sheets off and marked as despatched then to avoid being marked down. They'll be in the post today.
If I'd have marked them despatched today it would count against me. It doesn't make any difference to the buyer.
Whether Amazon would remove any late despatch marks if you contact them I don't know..0 -
I was advised earlier today, by an eBay seller, that my recently purchased item was sent this morning.
Ebay advise the following on the tracking page!
"Estimated delivery Friday, 27 Dec, 2013"
I wonder how many buyers would mark delivery down when it's received tomorrow?:p
Ebay are certainly becoming very optimistic with their delivery estimates. It's a Special Delivery item but RM aren't THAT efficient!0 -

The reason I didn't re open my store until very late Christmas Eve was that sellers were reporting delivery estimates that included the 26th December and at the latest 27th for items bought after PO closed on Christmas Eve.
This is my usual rant though, so I'll shut up now.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had an Ebay buyer on the 21st (after last xmas post) - i posted same day and upgraded to 1st class for free - and got a negative Christmas day saying not arrived and was a present.
But the lovely people at Ebay removed it without me asking.

Well done techspec if only eBay were always that sensible.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. That usually happens if another seller has reported them. They must have done it with someone else too.0

If you sent it on the 27th, that's fine for Amazon. Items sold on the 24th had an expected dispatch date of the 27th of December.0

Amazon drive me nuts with what they mark you down for. I sold a book that was lost in the post. The seller contacted me about it via the Amazon messaging system to say they hadn't received it. I immediately replied and said I would send another out as I had a duplicate. The replacement was in the post 1st Class Mail within 2 hours.
I then went away for 3 nights on Business and had no internet access whilst I was away so put my account on vacation to avoid selling anymore books. When I returned the seller had responded to my message saying they had received the replacement book the next day and were very happy. But because I had not marked the message as no response required I was marked down for not responding within 48 hours!
Because of the cost of the replacement book and the additional postage I lost money on the sale but this counts for nothing.
Contacted Amazon who said I had to eat the lost points and take the hit. I probably would have lost less points had I told the buyer to get stuffed and received negative feedback.
Most of the books I sell are quite common with lots of sellers selling at the same price. Buyers tend to pick a seller on the basis of reputation and I sold more than my competitors because of my 100% perfect rating. Not anymore I don't.0
