You should see the muddy footprints on my kitchen floor, it's impossible to keep up with the mopping of it - even with a dirt-trapper runner, plus a dirt-trapper rug to walk over before he gets in. x

rofl - now come on elsien! you love the beast!
I do sympathise though - many a time I would have said 'Take her!' to someone admiring my Springer - she was a right PITA! then all of a sudden she matured and she became almost the perfect dog! and I was glad I persevered with her - The destructive, hyperactive, manic dog was replaced by a laid back, affectionate, obedient girl. I know what you are going through - its the doggy equivalent of 'teen rebellion'! they are constantly testing the boundaries and your patience! If you stick with them - if they are like my meggy, then you will get loyalty, affection and fun in abundance.

Mine are driving me mad for treats. Ok, maybe giving them a mini Christmas dinner wasn't such a good idea.

Maybe buying them a few doggy treats wasn't such a good idea either but come the new year they are going to have to be put on a diet for their own health. Both of them don't walk, they waddle.

    I share their pain.:o

I recommend a paw plunger for cleaning the paws, then a towel around the water bowl.

My house is also covered in mud. I spent all day yesterday cleaning it up. Also this morning Bailie ate the washing up sponge and proceeded to puke it all up, plus her breakfast, on the lounge carpet. And then she ate it again.

I have an 18th month old dog who on his own is capable of covering my floor in mud but Christmas Eve we took in a 6 month old dog that someone no longer wanted.

He has had no training whatsoever (spent most of his life in a kennel) so is not housetrained.

With all the rain our garden is just a sea of mud and we now have a layer of it all over the carpet in the living room and the tiles in the kitchen. The patio doors are covered in mud.

Me and OH have spent the last 3 days mopping up accidents in the house (he is a big dog so when he wees it's like a flood!), trying to keep the house at least slightly clean and moving everything out of his reach. Because he is not used to being in a house he sees everything as a plaything - tv remote, mobile phone, Christmas ornaments, plants etc. It's been a nightmare but every time I feel like screaming I think of what a horrible life he has had so far and how proud I am that OH drove over 600 miles to rescue this dog when so many other people were quick to comment about the situation on facebook but no one was willing to do anything to help.

Thank you. I don't think we are keeping him even though he is gorgeous. Someone is interested in giving him a home and hopefully we will be taking him there tomorrow.

It's so sad that at 6 months he doesn't even know his name. He is so excited by our dog's toys that I don't think he has ever had any and when you give him food or water he gulps it all down in seconds. He doesn't chew any food first and he will drink as much water as you put down in one go so we are having to restrict it. He obviously is not used to having water down all the time and, as we can tell by how thin he is, he has not been fed enough

Poor thing, but thanks to you he has the chance of a great life now. They give us so much and ask nothing in return dont they. How people can hurt them is beyond me. x
