Bush washing machine problem....

Hi not sure if there are any people in the know how about washing machines that can help.....

Set a normal wash on my Bush washing machine the other day and it started as normal. Popped out and when I came back washing machine was filled with water but had died mid-wash. Luckily the door hadn't locked shut so was able to get the very wet washing out. It was as though the electrics had died. Tried it again since but it's not even turning on. It's as if the machine is not getting any power.

Have checked the sockets and they're fine as well as changing the fuse in the plug but to no avail. Even took the cover off but can't see anything obviously like any burnt out electrics etc....

Any help would be much appreciated.....

Thanks in advance. :)

Try plugging something in in the same socket to make sure its not the socket at fault.

Check the fuse in the plug on the washing machine too.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Thanks for your reply, however have tried both those things and unfortunately to no avail. I wish it could of been that easy to diagnose!
  • Okay, while we wait for someone more-qualified to reply I'll offer up my advice, since this happened to me not long ago: :o
As said, been there done that and the following is the order I checked mine in - though different makes (& more knowledgeable forumites) MIGHT give you more definite answers.

    Ready?
[Though please post :Which Bush washing machine (model#) & how old please?]
    Here goes:

Searching forums (for my Beko) it seemed that LOTS of things can cause this, including (but NOT exclusive to):

Full filter - somewhere at the bottom of your washer and normally on the front, but often overlooked - unscrew the cap for the filter and see what unwanted pennies; hair grips; toys etc. fall out. BEWARE ... ... contains lots of water as well as unwanted oddities - use of old towels advised! :D

Programme dial - stuck? Try turning the dial and running a fresh programme. Use of the same programme will only show THE POSSIBILITY that THAT programme is faulty in the programmer, so use a different wash first to see if that works.
It seems that programme dials CAN be problematic. No easy fix, usually.

This now relates to age & usage of washer; but could you check the carbon brushes on the motor (google may help here) ? :D
Because (in MY case) after checking the obvious as above, it appeared that these were (as well as quite worn) dirty, and a good wipe with a clean cloth cured the problem (for a while at least, though I now KNEW the potential future problem).
It sounds tricky BUT was actually quite easy to check. :T
I feel for you; hope this helps even a little.:)
